INED 8320:Special Education Administrative Internship3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission into the Inclusive Education/ESOL Ed.D. Program. This class provides practical experience in the application of distributive school leadership (DSL) in an on-the-job setting. Depending upon the type of internship, candidates will be expected to successfully demonstrate all types of DSL in varying degrees. Candidates will effectively conduct administrative processes and procedures; develop their staff; demonstrate an understanding of reform in curriculum, assessment and instruction; act as a data-based change agent on critical issues and develop positive relationships among members of the staff, colleagues and families and other community members. Implementation of a school improvement project related to the education of students with disabilities is required. (For those who are otherwise qualified, successful completion of this course may lead to an endorsement as special education administrator.)
