SW 8710:Psychopathology3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: SW 7700 , SW 7701 , SW 7704 , SW 7706 ,SW 7708 , SW 7702 , SW 7703 , SW 7705 , SW 7707 , and SW 7709 Corequisite: SW 8702, SW 8820, SW 8711, and SW 8712 This course focuses on psychosocial dysfunction. Health and dysfunction of individuals and families are viewed within a framework that emphasizes the multiple determinants of human behavior. Students are introduced to the various manifestations of psychopathology in comparison to healthy emotional and social development in the domains of biological, psychological, social and environmental factors. The course is premised on the assumption that knowledge of etiology of psychosocial function and dysfunction provides the basis for effective prevention and intervention.
