INCM 9603:Essentials of Mediation1 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 1 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission to the Ph.D. program. This course emphasizes listening, facilitation, and collaborative problem-solving skills within a third-party process of conflict intervention. As a future-oriented process of dialogue and negotiation, mediation is appropriate for many, but not all, disputes; this course concludes with a focus on the ethical dimensions of mediation practice. The fundamental skills and processes of mediation are valuable to any professional who regularly works with organizational colleagues or international counterparts.
