EDUC 2201 - Teaching and Schools in a Changing Society

Prerequisites ENGL 1102.
An introductory study of current issues and problems in American education from historical, political, economic, social, philosophical, multicultural, and global perspectives. Focuses on efforts of schools to adapt to a changing society, the role of the teacher as a professional educator and professional ethics. Includes the use of current technologies which are directly related to effective teaching and 30 hours of observation and participation in a classroom setting appropriate to the students’ professional interests in elementary/early childhood, middle grades, secondary, or P-12 education.
