ECE 3340 - Diagnosis and Application of Literacy Instruction in the Early Childhood Classroom

3 Credit Hours 3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours
Prerequisites Admission to teacher education, ECE 3330.
This course includes the study and application of diagnosis and instructional activities for the preservice elementary and early childhood classroom teacher. It includes both formal and informal diagnosis, interpretation of formal and informal test results, planning and implementation of instructional actions, application of literacy diagnosis across the curriculum, and diagnosis of the classroom literacy environment and instruction. This course includes an extensive field experience. Verification of professional liability insurance is required prior to placement in the field. 20 hours of field experience is required.
