CET 4418 - Engineering Geology2 Class Hours 3 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: CET 3301, CET 3302 Introductory geology, including rock types, geneses, formations, strength, permeability, and weathering. Investigation of the effects of geologic structure, groundwater, rock properties and mineralogy on design and construction of highways, buildings, tunnels and dams. Problems of construction excavation and de-watering, tunneling methods, evaluation of slope stability and determination of geologic substructure through use of maps and subsurface investigations.
