HIST 3379 - Central Asia in World History3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: HIST 1111 or HIST 1112. This course provides an advanced introduction to the history of Central Asia from a global perspective. It covers a large territory including Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kirgizstan, and Tajikistan. This course focuses on the changes and continuities in the cultures and societies that flourished in this region during the times of major transformations with global significance, such as the expansion of the Mongolian Empire, spread of Islam, encounters with modernity, and emergence of the nation states.
