HIST 4410 - Colonial America to 17633 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: HIST 2111 or HIST 2112. Starting in the pre-Columbian period, this course covers the American experience until 1763. It looks at Native American life, colonization and settlement by the Spanish, French and English, interaction with the Atlantic world, and the wars for imperial dominance fought in North America until 1763. Issues explored include class structure and family life, religion, politics, intellectual movements, society and culture, slavery, and treatment of minorities.
