Students cover the principles and techniques of field measurements and adjustments, boundary, topographic, geodetic, route and construction surveys. This program allows students to develop maps from field measurements, design and layout construction projects, plan subdivision developments, and establish horizontal and vertical control using satellite geodesy.
Students also cover topics from civil and construction engineering, including structures, fluid mechanics, hydrology and the design and construction of highways. The program exceeds the State of Georgia academic registration requirements to become a Registered Land Surveyor and is the only ABET accredited surveying program in Georgia.

The Surveying and Mapping Program is accredited by the Applied Science Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://www.abet.org) and offered through the Civil and Construction Engineering Department.
