The program of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics offers formal training in problem solving, critical and quantitative thinking and logical argument. With these highly employervalued skills, the B.S. with a major in Mathematics is intended for students deeply interested in mathematics and wishing to pursue a career in a mathematical field or graduate study.

General Education Core Curriculum Requirements Specific to This Major:
Lower Division Major Requirements (Area F) (18 Credit Hours)
Major Requirements (28 Credit Hours)
Upper Division Mathematics Electives (12 Credit Hours)
Choose 12 credit hours from:
Guided Electives (20 Credit Hours)
May include additional mathematics courses or other courses as approved by an advisor.

Science Requirement  If not fulfilled in Area D, then coursework must be completed as Guided Electives.
