EDRD 7715 - Theory and Pedagogy in the Study of Literature3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Admission to graduate study in education. An advanced study of the socio-psycholinguistic foundations of literacy. This course examines theories of language development and acquisition of reading and writing as well as the theoretical foundations for a range of instructional practices related to the five dimensions of reading. Candidates will also explore historical perspectives of literacy as well as prominent researchers and theorists. This course serves as the prerequisite for other courses in the Reading Endorsement.
