ME 4301:Renewable Energy for Mechanical Engineering3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: Engineering Standing Concurrent: ME 3440 This course provides physical and technological principles behind power generation using renewable energy sources including direct solar (solar thermal and photovoltaics), indirect solar (biomass, hydro, wind, and wave) and non-solar (tidal and geothermal). It examines their environmental impacts, economics, and prospects for a sustainable future. Design and performance aspects of renewable energy systems are also covered.
