CRJU 3315:Criminal Procedure3 Class Hours 0 Laboratory Hours 3 Credit Hours Prerequisite: CRJU 1101 This course examines the requirements and interpretation of constitutional amendments by the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal and state courts during the various stages of a criminal case, including police investigation, search, and arrest; the pretrial phase, including screening of complaints and formal charging of the accused; the trial; the sentencing phase; and appellate review. The constitutional requirements regarding reasonable suspicion, probable cause, custodial interrogation, and the exclusionary rule are featured.
