REET 3550:Introduction to Alternate Energy3 Class Hours 3 Laboratory Hours 4 Credit Hours Prerequisite: (PHYS 2211 and PHYS 2211L ) or (PHYS 1111 andPHYS 1111L ) This course will introduce students to alternative forms of energy generation, storage and delivery. ÊThe class will explore present day technologies using oil, coal and gas then movine into emerging technologies such as solar, wind, waves, tidal, geothermal, etc.Ê Storage technologies such as batteries and flywheels will also be addressed along with fuel cell delivery techniques.Ê The course will end by exploring more futuristic possibilities such as space-based solar and high-altitude wind generation.
